Light Kinesis

Old Harbor Art Competition,

Concrete sculptures operating on the principle of a self-righting roly-poly toy, from which columns of light rise into the sky. Through movement directed by the wind, Light Kinesis combined measuring device, monument, and lighthouse, functioning within the harbour space as both an orienting point and a light marker.

Core concerns: kinetics and monumentality; measurement and orientation; light and harbour space.
