Transparency Register
Draakon Gallery,Photographs of the façades and windows of institutions of power; a vitrine table; a catalogue containing the artist’s essay and visual documentation; reflective transparent film affixed to the gallery window, duplicating the window and façade of the Embassy of the Russian Federation across from Draakoni Gallery.
Core concerns: the aesthetics of power; a materially grounded approach to the rhetoric of transparency; a formalist photographic practice.
I mapped the linguistic, spatial, material, and stylistic conditions through which institutional visibility takes shape and becomes operative. In Transparency Register, the conditions emerge in forms (register, catalogue), motifs (transparency, reflectivity, façade, window, glass), and modes of display (vitrine table, reflective film, catalogue photographs, framed photographs on the wall).
